Chiropractic Care for Shoulder Pain in Atlantic Beach

Shoulder pain can interfere with reaching overhead, lifting, paddling or sleeping comfortably. At Surfside Chiropractic, Dr. Nick Baiata begins with an evaluation to understand your symptoms, assess your movement and determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate.

Your recommendations are tailored to your examination findings, comfort level and daily activities. Our Atlantic Beach office welcomes patients from Neptune Beach, Jacksonville Beach and nearby Jacksonville communities. Book online, call to schedule or walk in during office hours.

Understanding Your Shoulder Pain

Tell Dr. Baiata which movements are uncomfortable—reaching behind your back, putting on a shirt, lifting weights or paddling your surfboard. Let him know whether the symptoms began after an injury, developed gradually or followed a change in work or exercise.

Your evaluation includes a review of your symptoms and an examination of shoulder movement, strength and other relevant findings. Dr. Baiata may also assess your neck and upper back as part of understanding the problem. The findings help guide recommendations for care or further evaluation.

Shoulder Care Built Around Your Activities

If chiropractic care is appropriate, Dr. Baiata will explain your options before treatment. Depending on your examination findings and comfort level, care may include joint mobilization or adjustments, soft-tissue therapy and practical exercise recommendations.

Exercise recommendations may focus on shoulder and upper-back strength, controlled movement and gradually rebuilding tolerance for the activities you enjoy. You’ll also discuss ways to modify uncomfortable tasks or workouts while monitoring your response.

Your progress helps guide the plan. If further testing or another provider would better address your needs, Dr. Baiata will discuss the next steps.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your first visit includes a review of your health history and an examination. Tell Dr. Baiata about previous shoulder or neck injuries, surgeries and treatments you’ve tried. Mention any weakness, numbness or tingling, and bring relevant imaging reports if you already have them.

After the examination, he will explain his findings and recommendations. Whether your goal is sleeping comfortably, lifting at work or returning to surfing or exercise, your priorities help guide the discussion. You’ll have time to ask questions before proceeding with care.
