Chiropractic Care for Sports Injuries in Atlantic Beach
Keep doing what you love. Whether you surf, play pickleball, lift weights or enjoy a daily run, pain can interrupt both your activity and your routine. At Surfside Chiropractic, Dr. Nick Baiata evaluates sports and exercise-related concerns to determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate.
Your care recommendations consider the demands of your activity, your comfort level and your goals. Our Atlantic Beach office welcomes recreational athletes and active adults from Neptune Beach, Jacksonville Beach and nearby Jacksonville communities.
When Pain Interrupts Your Activity
You might notice shoulder discomfort while paddling, back pain during a golf swing or hip stiffness when squatting. Some concerns begin during a specific workout or game; others develop gradually as training demands change.
Dr. Baiata will ask which movements bother you, how your symptoms respond to activity and what you want to return to doing. Your evaluation helps determine whether care at Surfside is appropriate or whether another provider should assess the injury.
Hands-On Care and Practical Exercise
If chiropractic care is appropriate, your plan may include chiropractic adjustments, soft-tissue therapy and exercise recommendations based on your examination findings. Dr. Baiata adapts the approach to your comfort level and the movements involved in your sport.
You’ll discuss ways to modify aggravating activities while working toward your goals. Exercise recommendations may include strengthening, controlled movement and a dynamic warm-up suited to your activity.
As a surfer who also enjoys strength training, running and cycling, Dr. Baiata understands the value of staying active. Your progress and response to care help guide recommendations for returning to the activities you enjoy.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
Your first visit includes a discussion of your symptoms, health history and usual activities, followed by an examination. Share how the problem started, any recent changes in training and the movements you currently find difficult. Bring relevant imaging reports if you already have them.
Dr. Baiata will explain his findings and recommendations, including whether chiropractic care fits your needs. Let him know about upcoming events or activity goals so you can discuss a realistic plan. If another provider or further testing is needed, he will explain the next steps.
